Hall of Fame Class 2023 The KGHSSCA is proud to announce the 2023 Hall of Fame Honoree. Coach Nina Kearns has dedicated over two decades to coaching young women at the high school level in the state of Kentucky. Coach Kearns worked tirelessly on behalf of her student athletes at Highlands High School. In addition to winning two State Championships in her tenure as a head coach while compiling a %76 winning percentage, Coach Kearns contributed to continuing to develop young soccer players as a JV coach and assistant coach through 2020. Nina Kearns-Highlands High School Nina was head coach at Highlands High School from 2000 to 2008 with a record of 155 – 34 – 15, winning state championships in 2005 and 2006 as well as state runner up in 2008. She continued to play supporting roles in the program through 2013 but officially returned to the coaching staff as a varsity assistant from 2018 to 2020 where the program made it to the state final two of the three years. Nina’s high school accomplishments include: 1998-1999 Highlands JV Coach/Assistant Varsity Coach 2000-2008 Highlands Head Coach. (Record 155 – 34 – 15; State Champions 2005 and 2006, State Runner Up in 2008) 2012 Highlands Assistant Varsity Coach 2013 Highlands Assistant Varsity/JV Head Coach 2018-2020 Highlands Varsity Assistant Coach (Record 58-11-7); State runner up in 2018 and 2019)
