Girls bowling Ladybirds win KHSAA Region 5, heading to State Championships

Kayla Lehn and Madeline Elkins|February 7, 2022 On February 1, the girls bowling team won the KHSAA Region 5, leading them to state. The team faced Pendleton County High School in their first match, winning with an end score of 3-2. The team then faced off against Campbell County High School, bowling amazingly, ending with a wipeout score of 3-0. For the Championship match, they faced off against Newport Central Catholic. They were close games all the way through, but pulled out with a win during every game and won 3-0. “It started off a little bit rough, we started off seeding 3rd place, which meant we had to bowl three rounds instead of just two,” said Senior Chloe Bramble. The Ladybirds pulled through and won the KHSAA Region 5 for Bowling. The girls will head to state today, February 7, to play their next matches.
