Kaitlyn Ryan, Staff|January 24, 2023 Win or lose, it doesn’t matter, last night January 17th, 2023 Highlands High School and Covington Catholic came together to support Thomas Burns in his fight against Ewing sarcoma. At the night’s end, the score didn’t matter. A great deal of money was raised for Burns and other people fighting Ewing sarcoma. “$10,200 was raised, including the profits from the T-shirt sales and donations at the game,” said athlectic director of CCH Tony Bacigalupo. Overall there were 872 T-shirts that were sold. All of these generous donations are being given to families who suffer similarly to Burns. At the end of the night Covington Catholic came out on top. They showed how much Burns means to the team and everyone in CCH. The score was 71-51. Tony Bacigalupo, athletic director at Covington Catholic High School, was so very grateful for both of these amazing contributions. “Growing up in Fort Thomas, I have witnessed the generosity of the community for many years. Once again, that was on full display Tuesday night! Please know of our sincere appreciation as this will not only help Thomas, but others battling Ewing Sarcoma,” said Bacigalupo. There was such a great outpouring of support and teamwork throughout the game. The entire Fort Thomas community will keep carrying Burns through his journey.
